~*FIREWORKS, THE 4TH, AND CHANNEL 10 NEWS*~ LOL
WOOT! AND A WOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOO! too! Jerry and I decided at the last minute to get out of town for the 4th too, soOOOoo we left Tuesday and came back Friday evening! What a GREAT time we had! Tuesday, as soon as we got to Erie,Pa.(only 4 hrs. away from Clarksburg, WV) we checked in and hurried to the beaches of Lake Erie!!! It was calling for rain for the next 2 days sooOOooo we thought we'd better get there that afternoon as soon as we checked into our Hotel! Wonderful!!! just to sit there in our beach chairs and a breeze was making us sleepy! Back at the Hotel around 8, walked to the Subway and back to the Hotel! Around 10pm we thought we'd sit outside the Erie Ball Park where their team, the Sea Wolves was playing a team from Akron, Ohio. We knew there would be fireworks!!! and I LOVE fireworks! Luckily, a gate was wide open and we just browsed right in and saw the last 2 innings of the game, the Sea Wolves won! Yayyyyyy! They were selling popcorn and cotton candy for a $1.00 a piece! I decided I wanted BOTH!!! LOL They were all out! Waaaaaa! but then the fireworks started and these were the BEST fireworks I've seen for a good little while!!! Beauty Full!!!!!! then we went to the "Plymouth" bar and had a couple of Rolling Rock Brewskies! Yummy! after a full day of FUN!
The 4th, Wednesday was rainy soOOOooo we thought we would LOOK up the new Casino they just put in, in Feb. I think! We kept winning little bits of $$$$$$$, just enough to keep playing with their money! It was still rainy sooOOOoo we decided to eat there! YUMMY! We got back to the Hotel and ate the rest of our dinner we had in our doggy bags! LOL We then got ready to walk down to Dobbin's Landing where I thought for sure they might have fireworks for the 4th!!! It cleared up enough thank goodness and as we got closer we could seeeeeeeee a crowd down by the Bay! We tried getting on the sight-seeing boat but it was full! We found out this was the first fireworks for a long time since back in the day that they had them on the Bay! They were DUDS! After seeeeeing the Ballpark's, these were not very good at all! No-one in the crowd was oooooooOOOOOOhhhhing and AwwWWWWWWing! Once and a while a man would yell OOOOOOOO! just sooooOOOOoooo it wouldn't be sooOOOoooo embarrassing for the fireworks peeps! The first or second firework they put off, a great huge cloud of smoke formed and camouflaged the fireworks as they rose up! I felt sorry for all those peeps and the ones putting them off too! Oh well! Jerry and I got a Big Thrill!!! because as we were hurrying walking out of the park with the rest of the crowd, a newscaster reporter from Channel 10 in Erie interviewed Jerry and I!!! LOL I said, O! Yes, I thought it was very nice the community could come together like this and then the reporter Mary N. asked Jer, soOOOOoooo what did YOU think, were they stunning???!!!! Jerry said, "NO, they weren't stunning but they were nice!" LOL and his statement was the one that was on TV!!! We hurried and walked back to the Hotel(we had to hurry because we were thick in the crowd and if YOU stopped you might be trampled!lol)Anyway we got to the Hotel in time to seeeeeeeeeeeeeeee ourselves on the 11:00 pm news!!! Phew! What a laugh we got!
Thursday was a bright sunny day soOOOooo to the Beach we went and stayed just about all day but we got back in time to go back to the Casino! We decided to eat supper here again, so tasty! We were having sooOooooo much fun!
Friday, time to go home!!! We thought maybe we would linger around just to go to the Greek Festival but it didn't start til' 2;30 and we decided to come on home!!! I wanted some Baklava sooOOooooo bad but luckily, they had a recipe in the Erie Newspaper!!! sooOOooooo I will get brave sometime and make some! myself! I'll put the recipe on here if anyone is interested!!! It says it is easy! LOL We will seeeeeeee! O! That is me and my new friend that was sitting outside the Erie Museum! I'll post another pic of him sometime! That building is the Casino and those house boats are on Lake Erie! How was your 4th of July???!!!! Hope YOU got to seeeeeeeeee fireworks!!! Sweet Dreams! xoxoxox

What a fun time you had! I did see fireworks and then they also went on a long time around here even though they are against any and all laws, city, state, etc. Oh, well, there were no fires and it was a good 4th.
